Orchestra Tango Aroselli - at the Grand Milonga on Sep. 24th

Orchetra Tango Aroselli will make their grand debut this year at the Grand Milonga at the Shilin Sport Center. Details will be announced shortly.

danyiPiano - Dan-Yi Chen
A virtuoso pianist, who is active in the fields of chamber music, orchestral works, opera productions and choral accompanying. She has also worked alongside prominent musicians, among which include internationally acclaimed singers: José Carreras, Renée Fleming, and Andrea Bocelli… etc. She has recorded several albums, including 30 Years of Piano Duo of Rolf-Peter Wille and Lina Yeh, which won the 21st Golden Melody Awards. Currently, she works as a pianist in the National Symphony Orchestra.

algyBandoneon and Orchestra Leader - Algy Wu
An active composer stationed in Vienna and studies under bandoneon maestro Juan Jose Mosalini in Paris. He plays the bandoneon in various tango ensembles and serves as the musical director in theater groups. The music score which he composed for the movie "When Love Comes" was nominated by the Golden Horse Film Award for best orginal film score.

algyBandoneon - Chen-Chung Lee
He is a multi-instrumentalist with specialization in different styles of music. Mostly selft-taught, he has been playing the Bandoneón since 2004. Previous performance experiences include recitals in Ann Arbor, MI, USA in 2008 and Taipei, Taiwan in 2009. He also played the Bandoneón in the concert series of “7 encounters of Piazzolla” in Riverside Livehouse in July 2011.

kaoruViolin - Kaoru Asayama
Born in Kumamoto, Japan. Graduated from Toho Music University, Tokyo, and Vienna Conservatory. Active with her husband Algy Wu in both tango ensemble and experimental theater groups in Vienna. Has regularly performed in European and Asian cities.

mikeViolin - Mike Palmer
He was from Australia, where he arranged a Mexican music band and was invited to play in the Melbourne Port Folk Festival. He's specialized in folk music with strong emotions.

mincoDouble Bass - Minco Lu
Major in double bass and jazz music in Musicians Institute in USA. He's specialized in many different styles of music, and is a renowned bass player in Taiwan.

danielMale Vocal - Daniel Liu
Professional tango dancer and amateur singer of tango and flamenco. Started studying bandoneon in 2007 with Alvin Cheng, and later with Jun Hayakawa. Vocal and bandoneon performing experiences include tango and flamenco performances with iTango Orchestra, Casa de Flamenco Mirasol, harpist Sarita Chen, Mimbre Flamenco Group, bandoneonist Jun Hakakawa, and others.

 
 

Violin Solo - at the Farewell Milonga on Sep. 25th

Violinist Yung-Kuang Hou will perform at the Farewell Milonga at The Red House.

yung-kuangViolin Solo - Yung-Kuang Hou
Yung-Kuang Hou was born in Taitung, Taiwan. He began studying violin at age 4 with his father who was a music educator. He is currently 1st viollin at the National Symphony Orchestra. Besides the career in classical music, Mr. Hou also participates in pop music productions and recording sessions with several renowned producers and is highly praised. In 2005, he recorded the soundtrack for the movie “Blue Cha Cha”, produced by producer Hsin-Yun Lee which won the Taipei Golden Horse Award’s best original movie soundtrack award. He also recorded as a viola player for the movie animation “A Fish with Smiling” and produced much favorable comments from Berlin  International Film Festival.
